1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Leap ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian and accept these terms on their behalf.
2. Description of Service
Leap is a career exploration platform that connects students with working professionals ("Mentors") for informational conversations about careers. The Platform provides:
- Career discovery quizzes to identify areas of interest
- Access to verified professionals for informational sessions
- Job shadowing experiences
- Parent dashboards for tracking progress
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Types: The Platform offers three account types: Student, Parent, and Mentor. Each account type has specific features and responsibilities.
3.2 Age Requirements: Students under 18 years of age must have parental consent to use the Platform. Parents can link their accounts to monitor their child's activity.
3.3 Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Mentor Guidelines
4.1 Verification: All mentors must complete identity and employment verification before conducting sessions.
4.2 Conduct: Mentors agree to share honest, factual information about their careers. Mentors must not provide psychological counseling, make career decisions for students, or guarantee outcomes.
4.3 Session Recording: Sessions may be recorded upon request for safety and quality purposes.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Pricing: Session prices are set by individual mentors and displayed before booking.
5.2 Payment Processing: All payments are processed through Razorpay. By making a payment, you agree to Razorpay's terms of service.
5.3 Refunds: Refunds are available if a session is cancelled by the mentor or if technical issues prevent the session from occurring. Refund requests must be made within 7 days.
6. Cancellation Policy
6.1 Student Cancellation: Students may cancel up to 24 hours before a scheduled session for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.
6.2 Mentor Cancellation: If a mentor cancels, students will receive a full refund and may be offered priority rebooking.
7. Prohibited Activities
Users may not:
- Provide false information during registration
- Share account credentials with others
- Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Share personal contact information outside the Platform during initial sessions
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform's payment system
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Leap or its licensors. Users may not copy, modify, or distribute this content without permission.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that sessions will lead to specific career outcomes. Career decisions should be made after thorough research and consideration, not solely based on information from the Platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
